Mean stinks!

http://www.flickr.com/photos/focka/6950344786/sizes/m/

The news is that Demi Lovato teamed up with secret deodorant to stomp out bullying. There campaign is called Mean Stinks! Sheknows asked Demi about the new campaign and her role apart of it. Demi Lovato"Joining with Secret to encourage young girls to be drama free, to just support one another and to raise the awareness of how serious bullying actually is has been an awesome opportunity. It’s a movement and we’re just trying to get girls to gang up for good instead of ganging up on one another. "

Demi is spending her extra time she has to stop the bullying, especially between girls. Another campaign she started was called "Love is Louder than the Pressure to be Perfect." Since Demi was bullied since she was 8 she can relate to how other girls are feeling, and she knows that it's not fair to others. All girls especially in their teens feel the need to be absolutely perfect and compete against other girls who feel the same way.

The secrets

Not many people know why Demi started cutting, or how she even became depressed. People were shocked to hear that Demi had been put into rehab for self harm and an eating disorder. But why? What had happened to Demi that made her lead to these decisions?

Demi started with these problems when she was just 8 years old. It all started back in elementary school being bullied by her fellow classmates. Other kids would laugh and be mean to her. When she asked why they replied "because your fat."  The bullying continued and so did the depression. She first entered rehab in late 2010 for her obsessions because she need to physically and emotionally change. She remained in rehab for 3 months. When she left rehab later in 2011 we learned a lot more than what we thought we would. We learned that Demi had experienced with drugs. "Because of her celebrity status, it was easy for Lovato to get the drugs. “Promoters gave me drugs and alcohol in restaurants or clubs,” she admits. “They wanted me to come back so I would be seen there."" (Demi Lovato

Through it all demi had changed. She's trying to make a difference in this world, and she's on her way. She's doing a great job of making the problem of bullying and self harm more aware to the public.

The life of Demi Lovato

http://www.flickr.com/photos/jessiiccaa88/3879664274/sizes/m/

The life of Demi Lovato isn't as perfect as people make it out to be. She has struggles in life just like everyone else, and a past she can't hide nor run from. Demi Lovato is a singer and an actor. Demi is the middle child of 2 sisters, Dallas and Madison. Dallas was also a singer and actress. Her mom Dianna was a former country music recording artist, and a Dallas Cowboy cheerleader. Demi started her acting career on the children's show Barney. She then went on to bigger and better things by receiving a part on the short show called As the Bell Rings. After that she got an even bigger part in the movie Camp Rock. Soon she was receiving her own show on Disney channel called Sonny with a Chance. Her show was later cancelled due to the fact that Demi could no longer perform. Demi was put into rehab for a self harm obsession and eating disorder.

I chose Demi Lovato because she's always been an inspiration to me. She's taking her past and trying to make a change with not only herself, but the rest of the world. Today Demi works against bullying, and teens who physically harm themselves, and those who struggle with depression.
