And for the grand ending..

Photo

For my final post I would like to reflect back on the process it took to put this blog together, struggles, and the feeling of accomplishment.

Over this process I've learned a lot about Demi Lovato, about her struggles, her success,  what her struggles were about, and how she led to her success. I've earned that Demi has accomplished a lot in her lifetime, she's made it so far in her life, and she doesn't give up, even if there's a block in her road to success. What I found most interesting and surprise was the fact that even after going to rehab, and battling with her self issues, she's still managed to keep it together and keep her dignity and respect people have for her.

A lot of people expect for Demi to take a break from her career after rehab, but she did the complete opposite. I was also one of those people who expected her to not show her face around for a while. Demi chose to let herself and her career grow and expand to bigger and better things, such as her singing career, and helping with campaigns to end bullying. She's really made her career into something much bigger than it was before her rehab, which surprised most of us.

Along this process, I've ran into a lot of road blocks. Some things were more difficult than others. For my how to post it was very difficult to find something that related to me and her that I could put into how to post, and explain why I chose that. Another challenge I ran into was find pictures that were clear and could be used without being stolen. Another challenge with the pictures is finding one that can relate to my post, there's not a lot of picture that can really relate to every topic I have on my blog.

Everyone has more than one struggle when making a blog, and I've had several for myself. Another challenge was finding the information and time needed to make my blog perfect. The problem with finding information on Demi Lovato on the Internet is that not everything you find on a person is true, especially a celebrity. Another struggle with finding information is reliable websites, how do you know for sure if its reliable or not? And on top of all that responsibility comes time outside of class to work on my blog. Making a blog, plus other homework. And after school activities can be very hard as well.

With all the struggles, and everything I've learned, I also want to reward myself for going outside my comfort zone to learn about things I never would have expected myself to learn about. This project involved more than just learning about Demi Lovatos life and making a blog, it also included learning about disease that she had, and everything else that went along with her life.

I also want to reward myself for completing this blog. I want to reward myself with this because I really spread out my time, and with being sick and missing school, I finished my blog, and feel I did a prety good job on it.

This blog was a great experience, and I really put my thought and time into this blog to make it perfect, and I'm glad that I got to have the chance to learn more about Demi Lovato, and her life. Thank you for reading my blog, and keeping up with it.

And the award goes to...

Demi Lovato has a lot of accomplishments in her life. Many to which caught my attention and made me think about, what I thought her accomplishments were from my own perspective.

Accomplishment #1 : Finding herself

One of the accomplishments I thought were one of Demi's greatest was her overcoming her self issues and getting her way through rehab. It was one of the toughest parts in her life, and she made it through it and while going through all that she kept her dignity. I feel this is one of her greatest accomplishments because if I was in her position, I don't know if I'd be able to get through it without breaking down. She is a strong girl, and through this struggle in her life she really showed her strength to everyone who followed her along the way.

Accomplishment #2 : becoming one of the greatest teen role models

Many people wouldn't agree with me on this, but in my own opinion Demi is one of the greatest teen role models. Demi has made mistakes which could certainly make her unable to maintain the reputation of a good role model, but like most people, she's human. And Demi makes a lot more inspiring choices, than bad ones. She did have her struggle period, but she has overcome that. I think this is another one of her great accomplishments because not a lot of teen celebrities can maintain a good image.

Accomplishment #3 : divorced parents

On top of struggling her own battles she also struggles with her parents. As her parents finalize their divorce Demi stays strong, not only for herself but for her family. Demi deserves this award, because dealing with divorced parents, and your own problems is a struggle, and shes doing a good job handling it.

Accomplishment #4 : overcoming the pressures of a being a teen star

Demi, former childhood star started her career on a well known show, Barney. As she grew older, she became more known to Disney channel, and to kids around the world. Demi today is still making appearances and has overcome all the pressures that come with being a teen star. Like many other teen stars, such as Britney Spears and Lindsey Lohan, who just couldn't handle the fame as a teenager like Demi. I chose this award because I feel like it would be hard to be a teen celebrity and handle friends, and school at the same time. And Demi did all that, with only a couple normal road blocks in the way. That's why I feel like she deserves this award.

Accomplishment #5 : redeeming herself and reputation after rehab

After Demi went to rehab, people were shocked. No one could understand why, until after rehab when she was interviewed. After her interview, she was still loved by many, and had all the respect she deserved. I gave her this award because not many celebrities can say they went to rehab, and still had respect by their fans, and were still working on their music, shows, or movies. But Demi did, and that's why I believe she deserves this award.

Demi has made many accomplishments, and these are just the few that I've chosen. I've always been a big fan of Demi and I'm glad I could recognize a few of the rewarding things she's accomplished.

Should teen celebrities be considered role models?

Photo click Here

Today many teens think of celebrities as role models. But should they be role models to these kids? This is a topic discussed daily between parents who personally think their kids shouldn't even consider any celebrity to be a role model, for many reason including the fact that more than 70% of celebrities do drugs, and since the 90's that number has been increased by 20%! But why is it that everyone who's not a celebrity automatically assume all celebrities make bad choices and are bad people? Does everyone think teen celebrities shouldn't be role models to their young kids?

In today's society we give kids the idea that image they should maintain is a skinny super model dolled up with make up, when in reality most of the picture you see are edited to make the person look 10x better than they originally do. And with that we give our kids the wrong idea of beauty. But just cause their good looking doesn't mean they don't have good hearts, and can't be considered role models to our children.

Personally I think that teen celebrities have the right to be considered role models to young kids, because of the fact that a lot of them make good choices, and we all make mistakes. Everyone has their flaws, and some of us just get brought into the wrong crowd. The fact that not all of us have perfect lives, even if we are famous. Kids don't even notice the bad things about a person, because most of em are too young to know, or even realize it. Kids only see the good in people, especially the ones they look up too.

Love is louder than the pressure to be perfect

Love is louder than the pressure to be perfect

The history of selfharm and depression dates back to 1913 when it was studied by L.E. Emerson. There's not alot of history to backup self harm, less than you would think. 1 and 12 people will self harm themselves in their teenage years. 1 and 33 children may have depression, and in teens the number maybe as high as 1 and 18.

People don't realize this but self harm and depression are a big deal. It needs to become more aware to the public about what it is, why its affecting our children and young adults, and what we can do to help stop it. This is why I chose to do research on self harm and depression. This topic relates to Demi Lovato in s many ways, because Demi is working on making this topic more aware to the public as much as possible. Even Demi herself has struggled with depression, and self harm.

There are many different types of depression. "All depression types are not the same. Major depression, or clinical depression, and chronic depression, also known as dysthymia. these are the most common types. But there are also other types of depression with unique signs, symptoms, and treatment." The type of depression Demi suffers from is called manic depression, also known as a bipolar disorder. This type of depression can cause you to make risky actions, which made Demi lead into self harm, drugs, and stop eating. This mental illness is serious and can lead to choosing to end your life if not treated. This type of depression has been known to end careers, and relationships.

Depression and self harm, and major problems that people don't notice or think about everyday, but it's important that we start. More knowledge about these issues can be helpful, and help others. Especially those who don't suffer from these things understand what people who do are going through and they can help. That's why I chose to research depression and self harm, and what it can do to a person.

Mean stinks!

http://www.flickr.com/photos/focka/6950344786/sizes/m/

The news is that Demi Lovato teamed up with secret deodorant to stomp out bullying. There campaign is called Mean Stinks! Sheknows asked Demi about the new campaign and her role apart of it. Demi Lovato"Joining with Secret to encourage young girls to be drama free, to just support one another and to raise the awareness of how serious bullying actually is has been an awesome opportunity. It’s a movement and we’re just trying to get girls to gang up for good instead of ganging up on one another. "

Demi is spending her extra time she has to stop the bullying, especially between girls. Another campaign she started was called "Love is Louder than the Pressure to be Perfect." Since Demi was bullied since she was 8 she can relate to how other girls are feeling, and she knows that it's not fair to others. All girls especially in their teens feel the need to be absolutely perfect and compete against other girls who feel the same way.

The secrets

http://www.flickr.com/photos/shout-it/4252258325/sizes/m/

Not many people know why Demi started cutting, or how she even became depressed. People were shocked to hear that Demi had been put into rehab for self harm and an eating disorder. But why? What had happened to Demi that made her lead to these decisions?

Demi started with these problems when she was just 8 years old. It all started back in elementary school being bullied by her fellow classmates. Other kids would laugh and be mean to her. When she asked why they replied "because your fat."  The bullying continued and so did the depression. She first entered rehab in late 2010 for her obsessions because she need to physically and emotionally change. She remained in rehab for 3 months. When she left rehab later in 2011 we learned a lot more than what we thought we would. We learned that Demi had experienced with drugs. "Because of her celebrity status, it was easy for Lovato to get the drugs. “Promoters gave me drugs and alcohol in restaurants or clubs,” she admits. “They wanted me to come back so I would be seen there."" (Demi Lovato

Through it all demi had changed. She's trying to make a difference in this world, and she's on her way. She's doing a great job of making the problem of bullying and self harm more aware to the public.
